Rather than "a pinch of life, moe and gag," I think that "a slice of life with a tablespoon of moe and some gag" is a little nicer.
Why? Because "slice of life" is a genre itself, and as bad as the pun is, it's a little more humourous. Oh, and tablespoons are quantitically larger than a pinch, and everybody likes moe.
Granted, it is a little long, but if you try saying it out loud, it just sounds right, in my head.
And yes, I do know dishes that are served with tablespoons of sides.
